The desktop PC is for aspiring gamers who like to have a wide range of customization and performance that normal consoles dont. Compared to consoles, having a PC add a huge amount of comfort room, aloowing you to play your favorite console games at a higher graphic quality and performance, or even PC exclusive games like ARMA 3.
Certain advantages over consoles would be Multi-monitor displays, no FPS caps on most AAA game titles, upgradability, ect. The cons of having a PC over a console would be that Desktops are not mobile over console but other than that PC's are better on nearly every level.
